Linville Falls, Step Three

OK,one more wash before I hit the hey. But I really do have to go to bed now. Children start waking up at 6:00 am around here now that school has started. More tomorrow...

It is amazing how much definition you've got already with these few washes. I'm so interested to see what colors you're going to use in the final stages. This is lovely to watch happen.

Thanks Laura. I have never done rock formations like this before. I have to say it is more difficult that I thought. Cross your fingers!

I can't wait to see how you do the water. Personally, i've never done water, so i'm planning on learning from you.

Good luck man. I've never painted a waterfall either. So we're both in for a ride. :-)

Thanks Wally. Thanks Bill. As if I wasn't feeling enough pressure already. I can always count on you guys for support.

Chuck, this is one of my favorite places. Lucky you for getting to go there! Just a few light streaky washes (that you immediately blot up with a NON-textured paper towel) and splatters and I'd bet you've got the waterfall, although you could just leave it as is. Wally DOES have a very good point, after all... :-D And doing rock formations can be oh-so-very meditative and fun -- be careful for they are addictive! Did you go to the top of the gorge when you were there?

Hey Linda,
I did indeed get to the top. Actually, this is where the film "The Last of the Mohicans" was made. And the view was wonderful. I can't wait to do this in oil.
