The Rock

Rocks seem to be a theme here, huh? Unlike the one from two posts ago, this rock is only bout fifty feet long from left to right. This is a farm near my house that has been a subject many times. I just love this place. The owner is wealthy enough not to have to sell his land to developers to raise more McMansions. It is pristine with barns, stables and a plantation style home. I hope to paint that sometime soon as well.

SO GLAD to see you back painting! This is an awesome little painting -- I don't know how you get such a sense of detail in such a small piece...
And thanks for stopping by and giving the greatest compliment you could have given me! :-)

Yummm. I love these last paintings. Of course, I love all of your paintings, whatever the subject. Hey, what happened to the profile drawing? Not that I don't love the painting vignette, of course!

Hey L,
I was hoping you'd stop by. I felt like I needed to change up my profile image, but I don't know if it was the right thing to do.

This on is a detail of a painting I did of my twins. He's the one that looks like me.

I was surfing around and "struggling to paint" caught my eye. From what I can see, you are a real craftsman (meant in the highest artistic sense!): obviously competent to creatively transmute whatever field of 'struggle' you have set for yourself.
I look forward to having more time to explore your blog more.
