Welcome back to the stage, Bob...

You saw him first in BCF for a couple of days ago. Here he is again in a regular sketch. My Bro-in-law Bob.

I know, the guitar is way off. There is something about string instruments that makes me stop looking and then the body of the instrument gets off... and oh well... there you go.

Madame Buttinsky's rule number one: don't specify what you think is wrong with sketch. Oh, you can say (sparingly)'I'm not thrilled about this' or 'this is not my favorite' but, really, what do you know? You're only the person who drew it. Once out of your hands, it has its own life, so don't criticize it in public, don't micro-manage. Let it be. Or, alternatively, you can tell the madame to butt outsky.

I have to learn to head Madame Buttinsky's advice!

Yes, you do need to heed Madame Buttinsky! I wouldn't have noticed anything amiss had you not pointed it out ... and even then had to really look. I was busy looking at his concentrated posture, wondering what he was playing.

I think this is a great sketch and yes, an artist is their own worst critic. One I am sure we are all guilty of at one time or another.

I really like the expressive linework here. A very fluid feel to the drawing.
