Tonight's guest star...

You've seen his work before if you've been here in the past. But this one is special. The drawing is my son's first from a live model. He's great at drawing cartoons, and does a great job drawing from his imagination. But this is his first official portrait drawn from a live model.

Can you see the under drawing? The horizontal lines through the eyes and the vertical in down the center of the face. He approached this with structure and a plan. The way it should be done.

Now if I could only get one of MY drawings posted on this blog we'd be in great shape.

A structure and a plan, eh? Wonder where he got that approach? (You're such a master task doer, Mr. C, as your home improvement projects show!) This drawing is really strong. I like his use of white over the dark paper. The nose is drawn so well. The textures are very, very nice. So much talent in one family! Ahem, now. WHERE did you say your drawings were, Chuck?

Hey Laura and Cin,
I have about a zillion drawings in my head right now. The problem is it's a liite tough to share them with you while there in there.

Yes it's me the one and only... well, talented second son of Chuck Rose, Charlie Rose. I just wanted to say thanks to Dad for putting my work on the blog and letting me enter youre world of art.
Love you Dad.

I'm glad to see you posting again, and a treat to see something from your very talented son. He has a real eye for proportion - which is tough to do from a live model.

Congrats on getting those home improvement projects done, too.

What a terrific drawing! Congratulations. I'm so impressed by your son's approach. Some a good grasp of scale and perspective.

Tell Charlie that this is GREAT, especially for a first time, and even for a fortieth time.
