Next Sargent Study
This is a sketch of a detail from Sargent's "Essie, Ruby, And Ferdinand, Children of Asher Wertheimer"
The color version is coming next. I didn't realize when I started this that this was a portrait of the children of the man in the last study. Ol' Asher must have been a pretty wealthy dude to commission several Sargent portraits.

He was! Sargent did several portraits of Asher family members.
Asher Wertheimer, I meant. he did portraits of the girls when they were young women, too. Do you have the huge Sargent monograph that has Lady Agnew of Lochnaw on the cover? I have it somewhere but can't seem to lay my hands on it at the moment, which is weird, because it's a big book. Anyway, you ought to have it if you don't, you're such a Sargent devotee ;D.
I don't have that one, but I have a book titled "Sargent, the Sensualist". I love it. And I know the painting you speak of. It makes me realize I need to pay more attention to the history and connection of his subjects. If only Sargent had used Flickr, it would be easier to connect the dots.
